The Filipinos are greatly influenced by the foreigners such as the Spaniards, Americans, Japanese, Chinese & other European countries in terms of family, group or organization, peer and friends, bachelors and class reunions, gatherings and parties. But the ancient Filipinos also had their gatherings especially in worshiping some idolatrous Gods on the ancient times. But in our social life this present time, we used to have reunions, gatherings and parties at least once a year not just to have bondings but also to give importance for their success and closedness to each other and to celebrate every occasion or tradition of Filipinos once a year. But the foreigners greatly influenced us in terms of food, style and programme in every reunions and parties.
To better feel the spirit of Christmas, the CEU-Malolos Chorale held their Christmas Party with me as the member of the organization. It was held last December 21, 2007 at the PHLIM bldg Room 102, 5-10 p.m. The fulfillment of joy was headed by the Masters of Ceremony no other than the bubbly hosts named Joseph Milan and Leodevino Lopez. To test the creativity, uniqueness and resourcefulness of the members, we had our costume contest and the Grand prizewinner for the best in costume was Jan Lys Guinto who wore a military dress (RAMBO) with rosy chicks that stands for “Gay Commander”; he won P400.00 as his prize. The money we collected after the two-day caroling activity served as the funds for our Christmas Party that used in refreshments/food, prizes for games/contests and props for the physical arrangement of the party. The most tremendous part of the party was the presentations of 4-5 members grouped together to test the creativeness, bonding and cooperation for each other; inspite of the on the spot challenge, we gave our best and some of the group perform a skit, dance, ways/rules giving, picture/scenario making, etc. the party was lasted with a smile on the face of every participant after the eating delicious Filipino foods, tiring but cheerful games/contest and exchanging of gifts with each other.
